The importance of exercise and play with your dog is just as important as feeding your dog a healthy, well-balanced diet. It provides essential health benefits, such as mental stimulation and important social contact with other dogs, people, and environmental stimuli. It also helps to reduce or even eliminate common behavior problems such as hyperactivity, chewing, barking, and home destruction.
The amount of physical activity varies between dogs. Important factors to consider would be their current level of mobility, age, and weight.
Our services are blend of training, exercise, socialization & enrichment.
At Canis Mountain Dog Training all of our enrichment & exercise services were designed by positive reinforcement dog trainers and promote good walking behaviors.

Our Enrichment & Exercise Service Structure is based off the methods we use for our Loose Leash classes. The walk or services are much like a loose leash session in the sense we are looking to manage your pup with obedience commands and rewards and not allowing bad behaviors to persist. This is not a replacement for a Loose Leash class but continual walks with our exercise structure will yield positive results. If your pup has already been through a loose leash class or you have taught them yourself, you can rest assured progress will continue and regression won't occur with our services. If they have not had similar training then our walks will promote some good behaviors for your pup that can be enjoyed by all.
Our structure also focuses on positive and negative associations.. Watching for signs of fear or negative associations is essential and understanding dog body language helps us decide which environment stimuli are safe to explore and others we should stay away from. If pre-existing anxiety or fear is present when we meet your pup, we work on desensitizing your pup while on the walk to lessen that anxiety or fear. At the end of the day it’s the pups visit and he/she should be happy and explore what they want, as long as it is safe and doesn't have an adverse affect on them.
“An enriched environment is one that is interesting, allows animals to perform natural behaviors, permits them to be more active and increases the animals' control over their environment. ... Enrichment helps satisfy both the physical and psychological needs of animals and allows them to make choices.” - St. Louis Zoo
