New to being a dog owner or just need a little help with your new puppy?  Let us help start your lives together with some positively reinforced learning for your pup and a bit of family training.  This class covers all of the same material as offered in our in-home classes, but in a group setting.

Puppy School II available to graduates of Puppy School I or any puppy that has taken a private lesson.

Puppy School II is designed to further your pup's obedience and loose leash skills.  Taking Puppy School I & II provides the same training and skills that Obedience I & Loose Leash I provide along with the additional puppy development items.

Part 1 of our Loose Leash Program.  Handler basics and getting our dog to walk with a loose leash under no distractions.  Focus is on basic knowledge and handling skills for the handler and leash commands for the pup to establish a loose leash.

Our Loose Leash I Group class utilizes Positive Reinforcement Dog Training methods.

Class comes with:

Part 2 of our Loose Leash Program.  Advancing handler skills and getting our dog to walk with a loose leash under distractions.  Class focus is learning how to navigate common distractions we would see on the walk.

Note:  Group classes are not for reactive dogs.  This is not a group class to fix a reactive dog or one that can not settle in a group class environment.

Need help with a dog that won't listen?  These commands will help position you to manage your dog in day to day situations.  Basic Obedience will also help open the communication channel between you and your pup by establishing some basic common language and understanding.  Our focus in our starter package is to gain consistency under low levels of distraction, from a low distance and for low duration.  Our Obedience Starter Package utilizes Positive Reinforcement Dog Training methods.  This class covers all of the same material as offered in our in-home classes, but in a group setting.

Obedience II class available to any pup that has gone through the Puppy School II, Obedience I class or AKC Canine Good Citizen Prep Class.

This class will focus on more commands to assist handler in managing their pup.  Further your management abilities with more commands and higher levels of distraction, distance and duration.  Our Obedience II Group Class utilizes Positive Reinforcement Dog Training methods.

Class comes with:

• Six - One hour group sessions
• Session Plans & Training Material, for each class
• Dog Training and Dog Handling skills will be passed on to the family
• Confidence you're doing it right
• Knowledge on how to further your pups Obedience Training, for self study.

AKC Canine Good Citizen Test is included with this class.

Class designed to assist owner and pup in passing the Canine Good Citizen Test.  Attendance does not guarantee passing.  Class focus is on the ten test items, obedience commands and management skills and how to use them to pass each one.

Testing Criteria:

1. Accepting a friendly stranger
2. Sitting politely for petting
3. Appearance and grooming
4. Out for a walk
5. Walking through a crowd
6. Sit and down on cue/Staying in place
7. Coming when called
8. Reaction to another dog
9. Reaction to distractions
10. Supervised separation

Note:  Prep classes are not required to take the AKC CGC Test.  We offer testing days as part of our Pop-Up class schedule for those clients that wish to only take the test.

Classes will focus on the fundamental skills and knowledge to have a successful therapy dog as well as prep for the TDI (Therapy Dogs International) therapy dog test.  

Note:  Prep classes are not required to take the TDI therapy dog test.

Note:  The TDI Therapy Dog Test is not part of this class. 

This class comes with Free Pack Walks for the duration of the class.

TDI Testing Criteria:

Phase I of the test:

• Wait/Stay while task is completed by handler (TDI Entry Table)
• Supervised Separation (Check-in and out of sight, time=one minute)
• Loose Leash Walking w/distractions (Getting around people)
• Group Sit/Stay
• Recall (20ft)
• Visiting with a patient

Phase II of the test:

• Reactions to unusual situations
• Leave it - Part I
• Leave it - Part II
• 'Meeting' another dog
• Wait to enter doorway w/distraction
• Reaction to children
